Deceit
THIS SINNER'S PRAYER V
To Prenella Pentard
God respects your right to make your own choices, right or wrong.
He cannot make a new person of you until you make him captain of your ship.
As you read this poem, ask The Lord God to show you how to have everlasting
joy, happiness and peace.
Daddy taught me a great lesson,
But it wasn’t what he planned—
He wanted me to tell the truth,
No matter what had happened.
He told me honesty pays
‘Cause he admired goodness—
Deceit brings on punishment
Else one hurries to confess.
But what my Daddy taught me,
Was no matter what I did—
He loved me in spite of me,
When I was a little kid.
When I copied my Daddy,
Teaching fate of a liar—
My child reminded me of
What success stories require.
Changes come if Daddy loves
The child and hates the mistake;
That’s how my Daddy taught me,
Liars make a big heartache.
Lying isn’t my forte’
‘Cause I was taught to beware;
A lie can hold back blessings
When God hears this sinner’s prayer.
Protect me from the trickery of deceit Lord,
Amen and Amen!
