Adversity
THIS SINNER'S PRAYER III
To Fred Wayman Sr.
06/26/1937-12/12/2003
God respects your right to make your own choices, right or wrong.
He cannot make a new person of you until you make him captain of your ship.
As you read this poem, ask The Lord God to show you how to have everlasting
joy, happiness and peace.
Heavenly Father listen to me,
I need you to hear what’s on my heart;
I’m trying to do the best I can,
Bless my new life and set me apart.
I don’t expect to escape trouble
Or think hard times will miss me today;
Some adversity is good for me,
Make it easy when it comes my way.
Cover me with the blood of Jesus,
Surround me with your heavenly wings;
Provide, protect and lead me always,
Defend me when I’m humbled by things.
If I fail grant me forgiveness,
Look into my sad heart, dry my tears;
Ready me to live in your kingdom,
Have mercy, release me of all fears.
I made a decision to follow,
Let you lead because you’re just and fair;
Father You saved me and bless my heart
When you listen to this sinner’s prayer.
Rescue me when I struggle with adversity Lord,
Amen and Amen!
