| Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; And before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. JEREMIAH 1:5 KJV | |||||||||||||
THE WEEPING PROPHET to Ken Casey I can tell you positively, Without any doubt in my mind; Tears are not a sign of weakness, They’re emotion felt by the kind. There’s a story about a boy, The young son of a holy priest; That God had chosen before birth, To do more than the very least. The boy’s calling was dramatic, God told him he knew him always; Even before his mother’s womb, God set him apart in those days. ‘Cause this one would be God’s prophet, And pronounce God’s judgment on sin; He’d mourn and cry for his people, When God showed him what would happen. The boy argued with excuses, He couldn’t speak eloquently; Because he was merely a child, He reminded God politely. God put His words in the boy’s mouth, And appointed the young one to be; A prophet to the nations and, Then God said you will speak for me. When Jeremiah prophesied, Compassionate, endless tears hit; He cried for sinners as he preached, Was known as the weeping prophet. And Jeremiah walked through ruins and wept.
