| For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. EPHESIANS 5:23 KJV |

| TEARS OF A WIFE to Ruby Skidmore Casey 07/23/1919-04/08/1999 When these two met for the first time, They were two same age first cousins. He so dangerously handsome— Both young—as their story begins. Delighted to keep company At first ‘twas a pleasure not love; One teen enjoyed the other teen, Soon they were all they could think of. Their families wanted marriage And she approvingly agreed. They were nineteen and she was queen Madly in love, they’d wed in deed. The queen proposed, he said yes and The following year they were wed; They lived happily evermore Their future limitless some said. She wished for him a formal name In time, hard work brought him respect; His new title was “Prince Consort” ‘Cause Parliament didn’t object. Poor health took her acting king’s life, Her prince, her true love passed away; She cried, and she cried, and she cried, They were no longer they, that day. She wondered how she could manage The loss of her man’s steady hand; Without Prince Albert to lean on, Depressed and alone in her land. So Victoria, England's Queen Wore black the rest of her life and Her Victorian era reign Was marked by sad tears of a wife. Copyright©1999-2010 Caryl Ramsdale All Rights Reserved. |
