TESTAMENT
a perpatrator—
the trickster that
leads others to believe...
a scapegoat—
the unfortunate
the trickster will
punish...
an audience— the spectators that witness and judge...

But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. LEVITICUS 16:10 KJV

YOUR EXCLUSIVE LOSS
To Caroline [Cindy] Lucinda Lyons
about 1849-about 1892

GOD perceives the real truth,
Knows you’re not what you seem;
Hostility rules you—
Guilt makes you plot and scheme.
So you choose a scapegoat
To malign and defame;
Transferring blame to one
Will lead to your own shame.

Ambushing your target
To lower his [ her] favor;
Will come back to haunt you
When your victim wins your war.
Once one learns you push for—
Anger and misery—
Just because you hold onto
Your insecurity—

They will take back their life
And you will lose control;
Depression will leave them—
God will restore their soul.
Bewildered witnesses
Once supported your ways;
But awkward conflicts
Lost you respect and praise.

Jesus was crucified—
Suffered for your mistake;
Shouldn't be another
Whipping boy on your stake.
Take your blameworthiness
To the foot of the cross;
Where guilt, faults and slip-ups
Are your exclusive loss.
