| For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. LEVITICUS 17:11 KJV | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
FORGIVENESS, GRACE AND MERCY to Sidney G. Skidmore From the beginning of time God told man how things would end. He drew a line—set the limits— Yet man broke His laws and sinned. God split the darkness and light, Created earth and heaven; He parted the land and sea, Set time by year and season. Then God shaped vegetation, Designed flowers, grass and trees; He made a male and female, And when He finished with these— Anyone could see He planned Our world to be orderly; That’s why he defined an edge And set up His boundary. Don’t eat from the knowledge tree God warned the first man and wife; Practice the Ten Commandments And you’ll live a better life. When people gave into sin, God gave them a second chance; A blood sacrifice restored their Relationship at first glance. God let man live in His world Of responsibility; Where peace-loving conduct earns Forgiveness, grace and mercy. © Copyright 1999-2007 Caryl Ramsdale. All rights reserved. Which person has ever kept God's Ten Commandments unmistakably? When people of the Old Testament broke commandments, they appealed to God for forgiveness through animal blood sacrifices to compensate for sin. |
