PICTURE OF COURAGE to Sidney G. Skidmore 08/07/23-08/16/2006 Many angels came to sing to me As I slept last night; Sang a picture of Jesus' courage, Then they all took flight. I saw Jesus in the garden As He knelt down to pray; Soon, I heard the people coming, They took my Lord away. Saw Him stumble 'neath the burden Someone cut from a tree; There were marks upon His body, They'd beat Him brutally. Watched them nail Him to the cross And upon His face was pain. He asked for a drink of water And God poured Him some rain. He could have called ten thousand angels To come and rescue Him; But chose to teach us courage While suffering for our sin. Tonight the angels will return 'Cause I call them in prayer; To show me how to face each day, Their songs teach me to care. © Copyright 1999-2007 Caryl Ramsdale. All rights reserved. |
