STILL BLESSING ME
to Betty Price

I've had short conversations
Mother to mother with Mom;
We talked about motherhood
And what makes mothers real moms.
Mom mentioned scores of words that
Sent pictures of mothers to be;
'Cause moms don't come ready-made
They're all in training you see.
One day Mom came to visit,
Said,"Here, read this old letter."
Grandma wrote, "A real mom can,
Kiss it and make it better."
As Mom rocked my infant son
I heard her sigh, saw her smile,
She was reliving the past,
Coasting back in time awhile.
Softly mom began to hum
A familiar melody;
Yes, I'm blessed with a real mom
And she is still blessing me.
