She didn't go to college,
Or finish grade school either;
Stumbled over words she read,
Still became a believer.
Bibles were her favorite books,
Collected over the years;
Read slow cover to cover,
Some pages were stained with tears.
Loved her man with all her heart,
Always gave him quiet time;
Fed him lots of tenderness,
he was grateful, love was fine.
Mothered a big family,
Never had much time to spare;
Saw to their needs, not her own,
Taught them God's mighty and fair.
Book learning didn't keep her,
From a contented, full life;
Knew putting God first made for,
One happy mother and wife.
