KING OF KINGS

Herod slew the babes of Bethlehem,
Someone named him Herod the Great;
This king winked at plots and secrets,
Said silence would be Jesus fate.
Herod held a secret meeting
With men he believed to be wise;
He asked, "Where will the babe be born,
Tell me the place this Christ child lies."
Bethlehem town in Judah land
Was the place of the birth they told;
"We've come to worship this infant,
Bringing gifts that are very old."
"Go, search Bethlehem for this babe",
Herod said waving them away
"And when you've found this King of Kings,
I'll come worship Him, in my way."
God warned the Magi in a dream,
Herod was a coniving king;
God said, "Go home another way,
My Son will live. He's King of Kings."
