HIS ROAD TO GLORY

On a small island near Turkey,
A man named John was in exile;
John was filled with the Holy Ghost,
Patmos was the name of that isle.
John had been telling true stories,
Preaching, sharing, spreading good news;
Apprehended, persecuted,
Was banished for his Christian views.
Jesus sent an angel to John,
To show him heavenly visions;
So he could tell the story and,
Reach every faith, all religions.
A voice spoke that day, the Lord's day,
'Twas loud, like a trumpet sounding;
John saw seven gold candlesticks,
As he turned toward the One speaking.
The Son of Man robed to his feet,
Chest wrapped with a gold band stood there;
His eyes glowed like fire, his feet,
Illuminated like a flare.
His hair snow white and from His mouth,
Protruded a sharp two-edged sword;
Seven stars rest in His right hand,
A silhoutte beamed 'round the Lord.
When John saw this he fell as dead,
At the feet of the mighty one;
That touched John with His right hand said,
"Do not fear I'm God's living Son."
John, the "Beloved disciple",
Wrote the end of God's great story;
The Book of Revelation's true,
It reveals His road to glory.
