And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men,
who shall be able to teach others also.

HIS GENTLE WALK to Charles L. Slothower 11/26/1884-10/1964
A fast walk couldn't catch him; The grandpa I knew was tall. God made his legs extra long, So he could play basketball. His shoulders and hands were strong; He opened jars easily. When I couldn't push something, He'd smile and do it for me. I saw him reach for heaven, Stretch his arms over his head; In a soft voice children hear, "Bless this little one," he said. We solved hard crossword puzzles; Worked on the dining table. My job was finding answers In books and one old bible. I still believe he knew God So well that they'd often talk; And Jesus walked beside him As he walked his gentle walk.
