HEART OF GOLD
to Mark Casey

The Lord knows who you pray to,
And He knows what's in your heart;
God responds to loyal ones,
Who respect Him from the start.
God grants the gift of wisdom,
To the ones who ask Him to;
Teach them how to live life right,
Ask! He'll give that gift to you.
The Lord searches all your thoughts,
He can see what's in your mind;
God understands your reasons,
Your purpose is well defined.
Sometimes, we struggle with guilt,
Shame, disgrace, or self-disgust;
That's when we need the Lord's help,
To show us what's wrong with us.
The next time you talk to God,
Remember what you've been told;
Ask God for a special heart,
He'll give you a heart of gold.
