HE ROSE TO GLORY

Jesus Christ died and was buried,
Next day the governor was told;
"Three days," the Pharisees announced,
"The liar will rise," priests said bold.
"Order soldiers to guard the tomb,
So not one can steal Him away;
Followers might take His body,
Make it look like He rose that day."
Soldiers sealed and guarded the tomb,
An angel of the Lord came down,
His presence made the guards tremble,
They ran away frightened toward town—
Then told the Chief Priests what happened,
The old leaders made up a plan;
They paid soldiers to lie, to say,
"He was taken by His own band."
Governor Pontius Pilate
Never once questioned their story;
Radiant light surrounds God's Son
'Cause I know—He rose to glory.
