HE DIED DEFENDING US
to Larry D. Ramsdale
A large crowd followed Jesus,
The women cried tears for him;
A fieldhand carried his cross,
Jesus turned and said to them.
"Listen! If they can do this to me,
Think what they can do to you;
If they will do this to me,
Think what they will do to you."
God's tears anointed Jesus,
And turned the universe gray;
Our Lord gave up His young life,
As He died, they heard Him say.
"Listen! If they can do this to me,
Think what they can do to you;
If they will do this to me,
Think what they will do to you."
"There's no other way", God said,
Watching His Son die for you;
He died defending us said,
"None of them know what they do!"
