GO THE EXTRA MILE

One snowflake turned into two
And soon there were many more
Small featherlike ice crystals
Covering the forrest floor.
A field of white before me,
Snowclad branches all around;
Crisp snowflakes driven by wind,
Whirled and swirled on the ground.
A big guy came into view
Dressed up in a suit of snow;
Wearing a thin coat of ice
That set his image aglow.
Often God sends messages
In strange and unusual ways;
Someone had built a snowman
Where I exercised today.
A hat teetered on his head
Just above his happy smile;
He held in his hands two wreaths,
Both tagged, 'GO THE EXTRA MILE'.
