TEARS IN A BOTTLE COLLECTION
Caryl Ramsdale, American Poet
AND it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him. And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Mad’-da-lene, out of whom went seven devils, And Jo-an’-na the wife of Chu’-za Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. LUKE 8:1, 2 and 3

MARY MAGDALENE

Story:  A woman healed of seven cruel, wicked and inhuman persons—evil spirits—demons
that possessed her; intending to cause her harm.
Mary means “Bitterness”

to Amelia Fernandes

Twelve could testify they saw her when
She came into his life teary-eyed;
Two knew she was a first-hand witness,
On the day He went away—she cried.
She was afflicted The Lord’s Word says,
Mentally or physically unfit;
The ugly tales—designed to deceive,
Take eyes off the true value of it.
She was there—by the cross when He died,
Where soldiers cast lots for His clothing;
And could give a detailed account of,
The big prize they were bent on winning.
She was there—when red blood and water,
Rushed from the deep wound pierced in His side;
His bones were not broken like others,
So scripture was fulfilled when He died.
She was there—when a rich man claimed Him
And gently removed Him from the cross;
Wrapped His body in linen with spice,
Buried her friend—her healer—her loss.
She was there—first—saw an open tomb,
The stone that sealed it was rolled away;
It was occupied by two angels,
Saying He’s gone, come see where he lay.
She was there—weeping when He appeared,
This woman, His chosen messenger;
Carried news of His resurrection,
Brought His words to every follower.
Tears of joy mirrored His ascension,
And reflected a visual scene;
Of Jesus’ holy image rising,
In the eyes of Mary Magdalene.

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethern, and say unto them,
I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.  JOHN 20:17
