| And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child. II SAMUEL 11:4 & 5 KJV | |||||||||||||||||||||||
BATHSHEBA Story: A woman that a Hebrew prophet of God refers to as a little ewe lamb; who became a victim of adultery, a lie and murder. Bathsheba means “The Daughter of the Oath” or “The Daughter of Seven” to Nancy Kay Harper |

| Absolute master of common folk, He was the king that ruled their kingdom; King David “The Lord’s Anointed” was Agile, bright-eyed, strong, swift and handsome. As commander-in-chief—supreme judge, He claimed obedience and respect; As king he demanded labor and Personal service from his subject. And there was a fine looking woman Who caught his eye at eveningtide; From his rooftop he watched her bathing, And King David would not be denied. Feared for the power he possessed, The soldier’s beautiful wife obeyed— King David’s official summons to— Be brought to the house, where her king stayed. And soon this disastrous incident Turned into one of utter disgrace; The woman sent word she had conceived— The king connived a way to save face. |
Send the soldier Uriah home with Battle updates was King David’s lie; He’d send the brave man home to his wife— His plan to juggle the facts was sly. But the loyal soldier’s conscience nagged And he slept at the king’s door instead; He couldn’t eat, drink, lie with his wife— His army had a field for a bed. Later the cunning king expertly Coaxed him into a drunken stupor; Unaware, he sidestepped the king’s trick When once more he slept near the king’s door. Soon this valiant soldier delivered The dispatch that would take his own life; Uriah was sent into battle, To be killed, ‘cause the king took his wife. She mourned, became queen, and birthed a son. God’s laws violated in God’s sight— Angered Him—He punished them both ‘cause God loves a rueful heart that knows right. |

And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
