Just because something looks holy
Doesn't mean it's won God's favor;
Some appear to be right with God
But still criticize their neighbor.
Pharisees and teachers of law
Knew God's word and every thereof;
Listened and watched Jesus closely
And still missed His labor of love.
Jesus touched many sinner's hearts,
Parables helped them understand;
Those stories He told reached the ones,
That could recite laws of the land.
The story about a lost coin
And the one about a lost sheep;
Were told to set the righteous right
And wake sinners from a sound sleep.
These parables weren't meant for you
If your heart is in the right place;
When heaven celebrates changed hearts,
There's joy on every angel's face.
