Easter GOOD FRIDAY |

| Matthew 27:27-29 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! [KJV] | ||||||||||||
| They couldn't find a reason To order our savior's death; To many ignored prophets That foretold our Lord's last breath. They made prophet's words come true, Gave Him to His enemy; He was really innocent But those men found Him guilty. When they had finished with Him He hung lifeless on the cross; A friend asked for His body, Bought linen, wrapped up his loss. |
He was carried to a tomb That was cut from a rock wall; But God raised Him from the dead And His friends witnessed it all. So believers united, Carried His story 'round the globe; Told about a thorny crown, A stick, and a scarlet robe. By Caryl Ramsdale Copyright©1999-2004 'tears in a bottle collection' |
