COMPASSIONATE AND KIND

As far back as we can remember,
Eternity was set in our heart;
Heaven was the most beautiful place,
‘Twas God’s supreme, peaceful work of art.
Communion brings us closest to God,
Jesus’ death is the reason we share;
Pure hearts and pure thoughts as we meet God,
And turn away from our sins in prayer.
We’re in awe of every rainbow,
Those arcs of colored lights from the sun;
And see them as curved covenant signs,
Of a promise God made everyone.
Baptism is a sign of cleansing,
Should be a spiritual rebirth;
Because it can open heaven’s doors,
For anyone of us here on earth.
There’s no person our Father won’t use,
When he has a great mission in mind;
But common qualities he expects,
Come from the compassionate and kind.
